I learned Spanish as a second language, and I now have native fluency. Believe it or not, YOU CAN TOO! I taught Spanish for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program for four years, passing a record 100% of my students. I had these kids reading literature and writing essays that college juniors normally do--if they are good. If you are an IB student and you are scared about your upcoming exam, I can help! If you are NOT an IB student, I can still help! My approach is to assess the individual student need and interest and taylor the course to the student.

Portuguese

I am a certified Spanish teacher and speak Spanish with native fluency. I quit teaching to work in the private sector for a an international corporation and had to learn Portuguese. I used the same techniques for myself that I use with my students and became conversationally fluent in Portuguese in six months. I worked for many weeks in Brazil, and can speak Portuguese quite well--not as perfectly as I do Spanish, but I can teach anyone enough to get them conversational for business or school. My Portuguese classes will be discounted to $30/hour, with a two hour minimum.
