About Melissa:

I am currently a Ph.D. student at Wayne State medical school working on my degree in Cancer Biology. I have maintained high grades throughout the education process (high school GPA 3.8, undergrad GPA 3.67, grad GPA 3.66)and have tutored others at the high school and college level.

Concerning teaching style, I tend to adjust acording to my students. So whether the individual responds to visual aids or learns through repitition (written or other), I will create the optimal environment for the student.

biochemistry

I have ample experience in the subject of Biochemistry. While in undergrad, I took two different Biochemistry courses, one with an emphasis in Biology (grade received B+) and the other that emphasized Chemistry (grade received A). I am currently working on my Ph.D. thesis project which involves understanding the biochemical mechanism between three proteins (Akt, FoxO3a and 14-3-3 zeta) and therefore have an up-to-date knowledge of the subject as well as advanced knowledge of biochemical assays.
