About Andrea:

Thank you for your interest in obtaining my services as your child's tutor. Those of you who find it difficult to help your child with their school work due to time constraints or unfamiliarity with subject matter, can find comfort in someone who can ease both your mind and your child's. I am a 44 year old mother of two teenagers, both who are tracking in AP and Honors classes in their high schools. Their achievements began with teaching them an appreciation for education, strong study skills and clear goals and expectations. These methods have brought them much success in their classrooms and beyond. This can also be your child's future. If you have the right teacher, their academic and personal success will become a reality. I hold a Bachelor's as well as a Master's Degree in Education. Presently,I teacher VPK in the private sector. I began my teaching and tutoring career with 2nd grade for 7 years and preschool for 3 years. I have more than 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring both in the public and private schools, as well as in the elementary and preschool grades. Also, I am CPR and first aid certified. Most importantly, I hold a Professional Certificate in the state of Florida to teach K-6 grades. The state of Florida issues this Professional Certificate, only after the applicant passes a series of questions and exams. My certified teaching experience began in 1986 . I began my teaching career teaching 2nd grade for 7 years in the Philadelphia Public Schools. After taking some time away from teaching to raise my children, I returned to teaching preschool for 3 years. After moving a few times due to my former husbands career, I settled here in Florida, where I teach voluntary pre kindergarten. I received a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education in 1986 and Masters Degree in Education with a core degree Early Childhood Education in 1989. Most recently, I received the world at your Fingertips Award, which is given to the teacher that best understands and implements the school curriculum in the most interesting and creative ways.
