I have been assisting a University of Southern Maine professor for 10 years, teaching a variety of computer courses. We have taught Excel, Access, FrontPage, and Visual Basic. I am quite proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
I have a B.S. in Chemistry, but have been working with computers for the last 10 years.
I have University credit for Excel and Access, but most of my learning has come from working with the professor in class. As his assistant, I attend every class. We demonstrate everything we teach using the classroom computer and projector. I man the computer while the professor lectures.
Besides assisting the professor in the classroom, I have also been the primary tutor for the course. I really enjoy the one on one of tutoring.
In 2006, I was hired to teach my own Excel course at USM. The class had 30 students. I received excellent student evaluations. I got a lot out of the experience, but feel much more comfortable working with one student at a time.
