elementary (k-6th) I am beginning my fourth year of teaching. I love to see the moment when "lights go on" in the eyes of a child. Many times the obstacle that keeps a child from discovering thier true knowledge is how the information is presented to the student. I work hard to take apart the elements of a subject and explore the areas to find what is keeping the child from success. Learning is lifelong and it is my goal to have each student I work with develop a love of learning and discover the world through education! Teaching is truly and art and each child is a potential masterpiece ready to be discovered! ESL/ESOL I like helping students succeed! Children who have relatives who speak a language other than English face different challenges than those children who are only expose to the English language at home. I am certified as an ESL teacher and would love to use my talent and my love for teaching to help students overcome the barrier of language so that each student has a full understanding of the material they are being taught. general computer We live in a technology driven world and because every child will have to master computer skills, I would like the opportunity to tutor general computer skills. Going through college in my 40's helped me to learn the computer skills I have today and I use the computer for teaching and planning as well as teaching classes every day! I know the computer seems to make some things "too easy" for students and we have lost some of our editing skills because it is done for us. In contrast, the computer allows us to use time and our energies in very effective ways. Children can learn to use creative skills in ways that we would have only imagined a few years ago. I know that computer technology changes each day and what we teach today will be out in a few years. Because of this I am committed to keep up with the newest technology advancements and put them to use on a daily basis.
