About Elena:

I received the PhD degree in history from Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia. I also have a M.A. in Bilingual Education (Russian, English and French) and a Bachelor in Education from the same University. During the time of 1980-1986 I was teaching Russian language and Russian history full-time at Moscow State Univerity for diverse groups of students from North America, numerous Arab countries, Europe and Africa. In 1986-1994 I became an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at Moscow State University. From 1994-2002 I was a Director of the International Center of Education at Moscow State University. My responsibility was to organize international exchange students between Moscow State University and Texas Wesleyan University. I was also teaching Russian language and history to American students and missionaries. I provided Russian students with intensive English before they entered ESL classes at Texas Wesleyan University. From 2002-to present I have been tutoring businessmen, missionaries, travelers, students and scholars of the Russian language and culture. This was accomplished through the Global Language Center, TCC and privately. My teaching style is to allow learning the Russian language fun through intensive cross-cultural projects and field trips. Presently I am the president of the North Texas Russian Conversation Society. This organization was found in 2006 by a group of former students who wanted to continue to maintain their communication skills of the Russian language. A language school developed by Dr.Elena Bajenova-Frye ( LSDF )and the Russian conversation club ( RCC ) are integral parts of this organization. Currently I teach 6 courses of Russian language: -Russian for Starters (Thu 6.30p.m.-8.30p.m.) -Russian Intermediate (Wed.6p.m.-8p.m.) -Russian Academic Advanced (Mon 7p.m.-9p.m.) -Russian Conversation (Sat 2p.m.-4p.m.) -Russian for Travelers(Fri 6 p.m.-8p.m.) -Total Immersion in Russian (Sat 1p.m.-5p.m. once a month).The other name is Russian Conversation Club(RCC). Students at all levels of proficiency are invited to participate in the Russian conversation club activities. RCC has it's meetings once a month (every second Saturday) either in a Russian restaurant or the Central Library in Arlington. This is a total immersion program where students put their knowledge of the Russian language into practice. They converse with Russian native speakers by introducing themselves, ordering from Russian menu,and listening to Russian music. They also sing Russian songs, read Russian poetry ,translate the masterpieces of Russian literature (Brothers Karamazovs', Crime and Punishment)etc. In November we usually go to the Russian ballet. In summer students have the opportunity to participate in the 'bed&breakfast' program in Moscow and St.Petersburg.
