I am 18 years old, and I will be attending the University of Washington in the fall. I will be able to teach piano for beginners, and help people with music theory and history. I have been playing piano for 10 years. I am still continuing to take piano lessons from my teacher. I passed the 8th grade piano Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music practical test with the highest grade, distinction, and the 5th grade music theory with the second highest grade, merit. I have played at many recitals, accompanied string players, and played at my school's graduation. In addition to playing piano, I was in band for my 7 years of middle school and high school. I played the trumpet and was the drum major for the school's marching band during my senior year. I also took IB Music Theory during my senior year and received an A for both semesters. I am young and will be able to relate to young learners. I have a very flexible schedule and my goal is to teach others about the universal language of music in a enjoyable way. |

I have been playing the piano for 10 years, and I am still continuing to have lessons with my teacher. I passed the 8th grade piano Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music practical test with the highest grade, distinction, and the 5th grade music theory with the second highest grade, merit. I have obtained 3 Consecutive Years of Superior Rating in the National Federation Music Festival. I have performance experience because I have played at many recitals and played at my school’s graduation. In addition, I have accompanied string instruments and the choir for my school.
In addition to playing the piano, I have been in my middle school and high school band for 7 years playing the trumpet. I also played in the jazz band in middle school. During my senior year in high school, I was the drum major for the school’s marching band. I also took an IB Music class during my senior year. These additional musical skills will help me understand many various types of music.
I will be comfortable teaching beginners. I feel that I will be comfortable teaching young kids and teenagers. I play classical music, so I will teach the students how to play classical music; however, I will also be able to introduce other styles of music such as jazz. I will teach the skills necessary to play the piano, and at the same time, I will teach the importance of music theory and history.
