Lalyne's Experience:
elementary (k-6th)
I work well with kindergarten to 6th grade children. I was a recreation leader for an after school program in California (4th/5th grade). I have taught basic math, reading, and phonics. I use manipulatives and reading worksheets and books to assist students in math and reading.

general computer
Computers are my favorites. I'm proficient in Microsoft Word and internet. I can teach the basic parts of the computer and how to get around the internet.
piano
I can teach beginning to early intermediate piano. I can read music because I was once a musician. I can introduce basic classical music to new students. I feel that music soothes the soul and helps in academics.
saxophone
My strength lies within the alto saxophone. This is where I first started learning music. This is my strength because I was trained by a great musician. I was in concert, marching, and jazz band. It was fun and a great learning experience.

This was my first career as an educator. I started working with special education students (mild/moderate) in 1999 and I am currently working high school special ed students (moderate/severe). Through my years as working as a special education paraprofessional, these kids have touched my heart the most. They show strong resiliency and strength. I feel that these kids are capable of showing a lot of potential. It just takes somebody to show them great, positive, and motivating signs to pull it out of them. These kids need somebody with a ton of patience, compassion, care, and empathy.
