ESL/ESOL I earned a Master of English as a Second Language from the University of Arizona. I utilize a variety of methods: Total Physical Response, Audiolingual, Communicative, Suggestopedia. I have experience focusing on the problems that ESL students have interpreting spoken English and help students reduce their accent. I have worked within a variety of speech communities: Spanish, Native American and Polish. I am qualified to help people from all backgrounds improve their ability to communicate in English. guitar When teaching guitar, many students prefer to learn to read notes on the treble (G) clef while other students prefer to simply learn tablature. I have experience teaching both methods and have developed an approach based on listening, then playing along with popular guitar music. I teach and play many types of music: rock, folk, acoustic and classical guitar. After learning basic chords and music notation, students may bring their own music into the lesson which will be written out and studied. I have a Bachelor of Music Education and am active in the Tucson music scene. piano I studied both jazz and classical piano at Hartt School of Music, where I earned a Bachelor of Music. I solo and accompany other instrumentalists and vocalists several times weekly in Tucson and Green Valley. I have experience motivating students and offer students opportunities to play in front of other students twice yearly. I have been teaching piano for 18 years and have experience utilizing a variety of methods which best meet the needs of each individual student.
