Helping people learn is my passion! I'm a substitute teacher with a lot of flexibility in my schedule.I love to learn and would love to help you learn, too. I am very relaxed and laid back in my tutoring style, preferring to work in partnership with the student rather than just teach or lecture. In a tutoring relationship with me, you'll set the pace and we'll go as rapidly or slowly as YOU want and need.I am adept at gaining rapport with people of all ages. Everyone deserves a good education, and sometimes learning styles or preferences get in the way of success. I can get my clients over whatever bumps they are experiencing. I graduated magna cum laude in political science from Washington University in St. Louis and have a Master's in Public Policy Studies from the University of Michigan, and had a long federal public policy and financial management career. I can safely say I know the federal government and how it works, whether it is enacting legislation, preparing budgets, or the general structure and function of the federal, state and local government. Writing, and writing well, is one of my passions. I've been published a few times in the Arizona Jewish Post and the Arizona Daily Star. I think that every writer has a voice, one just has to discover it. I also edit an insert that appears in the Tucson Weekly and the Arizona Jewish Post, so I can help you make whatever you need to write really sing.I have decades of experience in Excel, which I gained in my government and U of A finance career, as well as in various volunteer positions. I would work with my students to help them either learn the basics or work on more complex projects. As always, the student is in the driver's seat.I am an expert photographer with interest and expertise in landscape, portrait, and candid photography. I had my own event and portrait business for five years. I started when I was 8 years old, with an old Brownie camera, and progressed to film SLRs. Currently, I use digital equipment entirely. I am sure I can help you make the photos you want (sorry, not expert at all in Photoshp).This sums it up! I am enthusiastic and energetic when it comes to sharing what I know and helping anyone grow and learn. |
