About Wendy:

I am a 25 year old student working on a double major in biology and chemistry. I attend Salem College and am preparing for grad school. Due to my lack of an occupational objective, I am free to learn to my heart's content. As a first generation college student, I work very hard to maintain my 'learner lifestyle' and am very proud of it! I have experience in tutoring and unprofessional teaching. In Chemistry II, my professor let me teach several lectures because I was always staying after class assisting classmates with their literature and homework. Recently, I gave two mini-lectures in an advanced analytical genetics course and lead study groups where all recipients made an A on the following exam. I once even taught algebra over the phone in an out-of-state call with great success! I use a common sense approach to teaching where I assist the student in simplifying problems and guiding them to take logical steps. This is crucial to their future success in learning and testing skills. Focus, patience, and logic are all necessary and obtainable with lots of practice and support!
