elementary (k-6th) I am a certified elementary school teacher from the state of NJ. I passed the Praxis exams to become certified! I have experience teaching grades k-5 during my two student teachings and teaching summer school after I graduated. I have 5+ years of tutoring experience through out and after college. I can tutor all elementary subjects. I have worked with all ability levels, and even helped students who were below grade level become proficient in their particular grade. I am creative, and teach children to never give up on themselves or their academics! grammar I taught English in Fort Lee, NJ after I graduated. These students were of the Korean decent and were considered ESL students. I worked with them all summer grammar improve their English for the upcoming school level. This included reading comprehension, grammar, and student skills. My students dramatically improved in English by the time summer was over. They were thrilled and so was I! I also took many, many courses in college to prepare me to teach, even a course specifically in grammar! I received an A for my grammar course! soccer I have been playing soccer since elementary school. I have always excelled in soccer. The first year I played I was on an all-star team. I continued playing into high school, and even through out college. I was captain in high school my senior year and also captain in college for my junior and senior year. I was named to the MAC conference All-Academic Team. I have ran camps during college with my soccer team in college. It is truly a passion of mine, and coaching it would be a dream of mine. I would love to help share the game to other people! study skills During college I worked with students who were so-called behind, especially when it came to test taking. I developed study guides, as well as their study skills. I made learning and studying fun for each student. I helped each student relate the subject area to his or her own personal life. This helped each student remember key concepts easier and help them recall the answers for the test. I do not believe in pure memorization, for then students fail to remember the concepts after the test is completed. I believe in learning and reinforcement of concepts, so the information is stored into their long-term memories and can be recalled at a later date and time. From my experience, it really works! The students I have worked with improved their test taking skills, and were more likely to study more often than the day of or day before a test!
