violin I have been teaching the violin for over 25 years. I've taught in Illinois, Colorado and Minnesota. I love the Suzuki Method of teaching because it teaches children as well as adults to believe in themselves. You don't have to be a great violinist to be a great person. I can help a student be great as well as enjoy the instrument at any level. It is about appreciating music and knowing that 'you can do it'. We all have the ability in us if we believe in ourselves. I've also been fortunate enough to study with some of the greatest teachers from both Juilliard and Indiana University. I've had some other teachers that are great performers like Shmuel Ashkenasi that taught me a lot, but weren't the best teachers. He taught me a lot about how not to teach, but I still really like him. It's about encouragement. I love the violin and I love teaching about music. It's great to watch children learn and grow. The violin is the most beautiful instrument ever made and can be enjoyed by all. Mary
