About Jessica:

I am an experienced tutor and a certified teacher. I have tutored test prep, algebra 1, reading comprehension, and elementary math and writing in the past 6 months. I am certified in Illinois in early childhood and elementary school teaching, but I also have experience working with high school students. I have taught elementary general music for four years and have a Bachelors of Music from the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana. I have a Mastes in Instructional Technology from Texas A&M-Kingsville, and coursework that led to teaching certification from National-Louis University. When working with students, I am patient and creative. I use a variety of strategies to help the student understand the material. I prepare extensively before each tutoring session so the student can get the most benefit from the session. The aspect of my teaching that has been most complimented by evaluators is my manner with students.
