Tutoring can be challenging for both the tutor and tutee; however, hiring my services, as a tutor, will make those challenges diminish due to my ability to explain and relate a specific subject in a manner that is comprehensible by each tutee. This is necessary when being a tutor because not all students think alike. Some learn more efficiently from lectures, others from taking notes and recopying those notes, and yet others by relating picture representations to the material. My ability to teach subjects using a variety of methods is due to my excellent background in both education and previous tutoring experiences.
My education background consists of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. During my studies there I was privileged to take multiple chemistry courses including: general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry and analytical chemistry. I also took calculus, which strengthened my understanding of the material I had learned, prior during high school. One of my favorite subjects however, aside from chemistry, was physics. This love for physics began my senior year of high school where I took AP Physics I and II; taught by a particular teacher who took visual illustrations to a whole new level: from egg drops, to blow guns, to potato cannons, to hover crafts. I hope all students have a teacher as enthusiastic about their subjects as he was.
Aside from my classes in high school and college, I also gained valuable experience tutoring during my sophomore and junior years of undergraduate study. During those years I tutored general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, calculus and pre-algebra. And tutored a wide variety of individuals. Some of who were strictly visual learners and others who learned via constant repetition and lecture, or through word association. As an analytical chemist by trade, those skills are a continuous help even at my current place of employment when explaining methods and procedures to my colleagues.
Thus, if you have need for a tutor to help in the subjects of math and science then I am the tutor for you. My ability to relate material to each individual’s needs and my large background in math and science make me more than qualified. Hope to hear from you soon.
