About James:

My name is James and I'm going into my Senior Year at Northeastern University- pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering. I've always done well in math and science courses and hope I can pass that along to other students. I current tutor in the Math Department at Northeastern, helping peers and classmates understand what they're learning in class. But one thing that sets me apart from other engineering/math nerds is my energy and outgoing personality. I've never had a problem connecting with people, and definitely helps when I'm tutoring. I always try to find new ways of explaining things, and try approach problems and trouble spots from the students' perspective. If I can see it their way- I can try to find a different way to help them understand it. Another thing that sets me apart is my wide ranging interested. I'm not just into math and science. I love music as well- I've played the piano since I was five, I've been singing as long as I can remember, and I've been playing the French horn since 6th grade. I'm very competent in all aspects of music theory- and would love to help out in these areas as well! I'm also comfortable with students of all ages- I've been working at MyGym Boston for the past year, leading birthday parties and classes for kids from age 1-9. I used to help with a middle school choir, and I'm very experienced tutoring high school and college students (even students in the continuing education program who are well into adulthood). So I'm happy to tutor any student of any age.
