elementary (k-6th) Working in the Special Education field has given me an opportunity to teach several different subjects and grade levels. Although I specialized in 9 - 12 grade my students ranged in ability ranges from K - 12 grade. I am capable of teaching subjects at a level that is appropriate for the student. I have experience teaching phonics to beginning readers. I have taught elementary math to students as well. In working with a tutoring center in the past I taught reading, math, spelling, phonics and study skills to students from K - 12th grade. special needs My Graduate degree in Special Education focuses on Language, Literacy and Specialized Instruction as well as in Behavior Disorders. I have experience in issuing standardized tests to determine Learning Disabilities and then developing lesson plans to work with each individual student. I worked for 6 years in a Self-Contained Special Education room as the Lead Teacher and have experience teaching all high school subjects. study skills Learning is not something that comes easily to everyone. I have experience in teaching students how to scan material to find relevant information, complete homework assignments and how to study for tests.
