Dear parents,
My name is Louis, I'm 25, and graduated from UCI in june 2008. I studied the literatures and civilizations of English-speaking countries with a particular focus on the American society, and took several classes in education.
I am a French native speaker, but am also fluent in English with a very good knowledge of grammar and linguistics in both languages. Besides French and English I have a very good conversational level in Spanish, and I know the basics of Russian.
Before moving to the United States I lived 4 years in Casablanca, Morroco, 9 years in Paris, France, 2 years in Moscow, Russia, and 8 years in Bordeaux, France. This international background widely contributed to my passion for languages.
I am particularly versatile, dynamic, and sociable. My good knowledge of several languages and my conscientiousness make me the ideal French/English teacher.
As to my teaching methods, I consider that a good preparation of a lesson constitutes a great portion of the teacher's duty, still, it is not all: listening carefully to my students' needs is essential. Above all I consider motivation and curiosity to be crucial ingredients in the process of learning, consequently I place them in the center of my lesson plans as ways of acquiring knowledge.
