About Michele:

I have extensive experience working with youth of all ages. I began privately tutoring when I was a freshman in high school for middle school algebra students. During my junior and senior year I worked for the company Kumon. Kumon focuses on the mastery of math and reading skills. There, I taught dozens of students, ages 3-18, phonics, grammar, reading comprehension, literature review and analysis. I gained experience working with children who do not naively speak English and with youth who have learning disabilities and behavioral problems. During my senior year I also created lesson plans and taught three home schooled children, ages 5-12. While an undergraduate in college I took a hiatus from tutoring to focus on my own studies. I received my B.S in Environmental Science from the University of Florida. I graduated with honors and had a GPA of 3.85. I concentrated in Toxicology, which required me to take premedical courses. I am well versed in most sciences and in math up to Calculus 2. I am very comfortable with teaching reading, English, literature, social sciences, and various other humanities. I am currently a Master's student at the University of California, Berkeley. I am in the Health, Environment, and Development program in the school of Public Health. I also work part time in an Environmental Health Science Lab doing research. I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge with others. I believe that every student can learn and I am able to commit the patience and individual attention needed to help your child.
