About Lissa:

Hi, I am an Actor and a Tutor...as well as many other things ending in OR! I have just graduated with my M.F.A. from Cal Arts in Acting. Prior to graduate school, I was doing theatre in Chicago at night and teaching and tutoring during the day. I have worked teaching home school, in arts camps, ESL, substituting, in creative writing workshops, with at risk kids and affluent Chicago private junior high and high schools in almost every academic subject. I have also worked tutoring for standardized tests. I am excellent with students. I have a creative approach to learning that makes the material more accessible and more fun. I know how to create academic goals and find avenues to reach them. Sometimes a student isn't receiving the information because they are a visual learner and they are receiving the material in the classroom in an auditory way. I listen to the learning style of the student and find ways to make the material sink in the way you take it in.
