Hello! My name is Maire, and I'd like to say thanks for checking out my profile. I know choosing someone to help you learn a difficult subject can be trying, so I'll tell you a little about myself to see if we're a good match. I recently graduated from the University of Washington Tacoma, with my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, with a concentration in Self and Society. My coursework focused heavily on issues dealing with race, gender, labor, law and ethics. I was able to take a wide variety of classes that helped me understand our society and the world in a new light. Although I excelled in college, school wasn't always easy for me. High School was a challenge, I was easily bored and didn't have the desire to learn subjects that I wasn't good at, math being the toughest. Because of this attitude I had bad grades and a poor outlook on my educational future. After graduating from high school and entering the workforce without a college degree, I realized just how important education is to having a bright future. I finally asked for help, and found a tutor that really fit my style. I overcame my fears of math, and gained other valuable skills such as time management and prioritizing. I am a very patient teacher, and my style is very laid back. I am willing to work at whatever pace you're looking for, whether it be cramming for your next exam, or better understanding a piece of literature. I'm looking forward to helping you meet all of your educational goals! |
