About Matt:

Hello. I have over 7 years experience teaching students math. Math has been interesting to me since I can remember. I studied math for 4 years in college, and graduated from Linfield College with a B.S. in mathematics in 2002. Following graduation, I moved to San Diego where I began tutoring students in the area who were struggling in various math courses. I eventually became a high school math teacher in San Diego, but after living in southern California for nearly 4 years, I was ready to come "home" to Portland. That is where I am now. I currently teach middle school math and social studies, and coach freshman boys basketball. My interests outside of school include most any sport, outdoor activities, a good movie/book, and spending time with family and friends.
