About Khalid:

As a teacher I enjoy the challenge of being creative, tolerant and responsive to the different needs of a diverse classroom. My teaching philosophy aims to build a community of young thinkers well-equipped to be successful in a pluralistic American society and a world of the global era. For that purpose my students are encouraged to think and acquire an understanding of the historical and social forces influencing our world.
I currently teach a college course on World Religion. Prior to my college teaching experience I taught upper level World and European History in a Minneapolis independent school. I also taught several social studies courses including; Non-Western History, AP Human Geography, Honors Comparative Politics and Economics. My personal experiences are equally diverse; I lived in Africa for two decades, I traveled throughout Europe, Asia and America, and, I speak five languages!
