I am a graduate of University of Kansas (grad. 2006) and have a BGS in Political Science (major)and History (minor). I am also fluent in Japanese, a native speaker- lived in Tokyo for 10 years when I was little and have done freelance research work for a magazine editor in Tokyo for little over the last 2 years, so I have experience in using the language.
I also have interest in history in general and religion.
My tutoring style is flexible, drawing the information from books and/or personal experiences. I believe that the tutoring style should be suited according to the learning style of the student since many times the barrier to learning is not the subject but the process and method of learning itself.

Born in Tokyo,Japan, Japanese is one of the languages I spoke growing up (other one being English). Even after moving to the United States when I was 10 in 1992, I never lost the language.
After graduating from college in 2006, I started doing some research work for a magazine chief editor affiliated with Gakken, a publishing company in Tokyo. The communication is done via internet and the area of research primarily incluedes history, religion and contemporary issues facing the modern world. The work involved in looking up references and summarizing findings.
My knowledge with Japanese ranges from reading to writing to speaking, and as a native speaker, I can discern proper pronunciation, or the pronunciation used in Central(Tokyo) area of Japan.
I also helped coordinate and gather information for translation of book(s)-which is still underway-by a British biblical Scholar Margaret Barker from English to Japanese.
For now I am confortable in tutoring introductory to intermediate level of the Japanese language.
