About
Sara: |
|
I'm Sara, a rising senior at Stonehill College majoring in Psychology and Spanish. I recently returned home from a semester abroad to learn Spanish in Granada, Spain...and it was incredible! In school, I am involved in athletic, academic, and community service programs.
While I know firsthand what it's like to struggle with certain subjects, I have always valued and enjoyed the learning process. I believe that each student learns differently, and that it is the job of the tutor to find the best way to explain material so that the student can relate.
Though I am not an education major, I have a substantial amount of experience working within the school system. In addition to taking multiple college-level education courses, I visited an elementary school biweekly to teach a science class, and taught English to a classroom of Spanish students while abroad. I am currently working as an intern at the Watertown Summer School program for special education students. I have also worked as a private tutor for family friends, and volunteered with School On Wheels, an organization that matches tutors with children in homeless shelters.
My favorite subjects are math, Spanish, and English, but I am always up for new challenges. I have a true passion for helping others and am eager to begin tutoring! I am open to working with students of any age who are ready to learn! |
