About Haley:

Hi! I currently teach 5 periods of 7th grade English as well as 1 period of middle school Leadership/ASB/student government. Before getting my single subject English credential, I went to CSU Long Beach and achieved my Liberal Studies degree, multiple subjects credential with CLAD emphasis and a minor in Natural Sciences. Since graduating in 2005, I have completed an additional 15 units of graudate coursework. I was a long-term substitute in various classrooms for my first year of teaching and have been teaching English for 2 years at the same school in Lakewood, CA. I have been working with kids since I was in the third grade and tutored 1st graders who were learning how to read, volunteered and read to students at a local daycare, completed an entire year of student teaching with 2nd and 4th graders, completed over 120 service hours tutoring at various elementary/middle schools and worked at another daycare with K-5 students for several years. Teaching is in my blood-- I have many relatives who teach-- and I am always willing to help others who are struggling with content knowledge. I just love to teach!

I have a current multiple subject credential from CSU Long Beach that allows me to teach kindergarten through 6th grade, and I also have a single subject credential in English. I have been tutoring and working with K-8 students for over 10 years which has helped me acquire extensive knowledge of strategies to use with various age levels as well as the ability to individualize lessons for different learning needs.

Natural sciences (geology, astronomy, oceanography) was my minor at CSU Long Beach and I have always been highly interested in learning about and sharing knowledge of the earth's processes.
