My name is Dr. Robert and I am an Assistant Professor of Health Education in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Johnson C Smith University. My interest in tutoring is associated with my desire to help students understand math at all levels.
For my undergraduate studies, I attended Washington University in St. Louis earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics in May, 1992. I obtained my Master's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an emphasis in Sport Psychology in August, 1996.
While obtaining my Master's degree, I held various positions throughout the Department of Health and Exercise Science including graduate teaching instructor of educational research and statistics class.
While pursuing my doctoral degree at the University of Florida under the guidance of Dr. William Chen, I held various positions throughout my department and the city of Gainesville, Florida. I held the position as a graduate teaching assistant in my Department of Health Science Education, teaching HSC 2100, "Personal and Family Health", an undergraduate course. Furthermore, I taught MTB 1371, "Math for Health Related Professions," at the Santa Fe Community College.
As an Assistant Professor at the College of Charleston, I taught a variety of undergraduate courses. These courses include Personal and Community Health, Consumer Health, Chronic and Communicable Diseases, Teaching Elementary Health and Physical Education, and Test and Measurement. In addition, I taught the SAT Math Prep Class for the Office of Intercultural Programs for the last two years. Furthermore, I have tutored students in the Charleston County School District in Mathematics with educational institutions such as University Instructors, Tutor Connection and the Sylvan Learning Center.
While here in Charlotte, I have taught Math classes at Devry Institute, ITT Technical College, and Art Institute.
My experiences from undergraduate and graduate programs as well as my Academic teaching background have prepared me well for teaching and tutoring a variety of subjects at different levels.
