general computer I have been using a computer since 1979. In 2003 and 2004 I took Microsoft Certification classes for Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Access. I am certified in Outlook PowerPoint and Word. I have worked maintaining computer hardware and software since 2003. I have been working directly with people and their computers since 2003. I am comfortable teaching general computer skills from very basic 'turn on the machine' to organizing files and folders, using a variety of media players (such as Windows Media Player and iTunes), a variety of picture manager applications (such as Windows Printer and Scanner Wizard, Kodak Easy Share and Picasa), a variety of email applications (such as Outlook Express, Outlook, Yahoo mail and other web based email), email attachments, backing up files, burning CDs, accounting applications (such as Quicken and QuickBooks), word processing and spreadsheet skills including creating templates. There are many specific appplications I have not used, but my general knowledge of how different types of applications work makes it possible to figure out new applications with relative ease. I am very good at helping people learn how to explore the computer and build on their new found skills.
