About

I recently graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor's degree in French with a minor in Spanish. I constantly earned strong grades in both of these subject matters, and I truly excelled in the acquisition of French and Spanish. Throughout my college tenure, I studied a range of foreign language grammar and vocabulary while devoting myself to studies of various cultures and literary works. I also have a strong background in art history of francophone and Hispanic countries. In my junior year, I studied abroad in Cannes, France, where I lived for 5 months. There, I was able to improve my language skills as well as experience a different culture. I have traveled extensively throughout Europe as well.
During my senior year, I participated in an internship at the French American School of Rhode Island, where I was placed in a 3rd grade classroom of bilingual (French and English) students. Throughout my time there, I was able to improve my teaching skills as well as gain experience in foreign language instruction. I was able to plan my own lessons as well as observe other teachers and be a part of each student’s experience in their French immersion. I have also substitute taught at the high school level in addition to studying the methodologies of foreign language instruction during my college experience. I believe that the acquisition of a foreign language is very important in today’s society, and I have a strong understanding not only of the structure of these languages, but also of the roles that they play in today’s world.
I relate very well to students of all ages, and I believe that they relate well to me. All of my teaching experiences have been very positive ones; I believe focusing on the student’s individual needs is very important. I strive to spark their interests while teaching them what they must know, and I believe that all learning can be fun if both the student and the instructor are devoted to the subject matter! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, and I look forward to being able to open students’ eyes to the French and Spanish languages!

In addition to my French and Spanish skills, I am also a native English speaker. Through my studies of foreign languages, I have become very familiar with the process of acquiring a second language, whether it is English, or any other language. I have a strong understanding of the grammar and function of the English language, and I also understand how it must be taught as a second language. While interning at the French American School of Rhode Island, I encountered students who are native French speakers, and who were learning English as a second language. In today's society, the acquisition of the English language has never been more important, and I am willing to work with any student who is looking to achieve this goal!
