Hi there!
I am a History major and English minor. All my life I have enjoyed reading and writing. I was a senior editor for my High School newspaper, and have been a staff writer for the University of Maryland for the past three years. My friends would describe me as a History geek, and I cannot deny that I love studying History. World History, American History, and Government and Politics are my favorite areas of study.
I am also fluent in Spanish and have been teaching ESL in Howard County for the past two years. I am currently employed at an agency that provides supports to children and adults with developmental disabilities, and I specialize in community integration and employment opportunities for those I work with.
In the past I have also taught guitar lessons, and most recently have developed a Music Therapy curriculum for disabled and elderly residents of the Baltimore area.
I enjoy tutoring because there is no better feeling than seeing a student achieve a particular goal of theirs, or make progress in general. I am patient, flexible, and willing to customize myself to meet the needs of my student. I am also willing to travel up to 20 miles (one way) from my home, and am available three afternoons a week, all evenings, and weekends as well. |
