Hello,
My name is Joe. I am currently a special educator at Heritage Junior/Senior High School near Fort Wayne. I recently moved to Indiana from Colorado, where I taught Social Studies for 3 years in a one-room schoolhouse in the middle of the mountains. As a special educator, I have knowledge and experience in almost all English subjects. Mathematically, I have experience in teaching pre-algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry.
I possess a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies from Indiana University. Back in the summer of 2007, I completed my Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado at Denver.
As a special educator, tutoring is something that I do quite often in my daily job. I personally feel the as a teacher, my first job is to gain confidence and a sense of comfortably from my students. A trusting relationship is often a major pathway to learning. If a student trusts and is comfortable with a teacher of tutor, then he or she is more apt to put forth positve effort in their academics. Once this acceptable relationship is formed, I expect results from my students, and I will accept nothing less than full effort and cooperation. Results and improvements are a sign of effort and dedication, both from the teacher and the student.
I thank those who have taken the time to read this brief bio. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Joe Trent
