About Stephen:

I went to high school in Longview, Texas where I graduated in the top 10 percent of my class, was captain of the debate team, won Best Supporting Actor at regionals in One Act Play competition and was named Outstanding Senior English student. After high school, I attended the University of Texas at Austin, where I received two bachelor's degrees - a Bachelor's of Journalism and a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film. I graduated with honors from the College of Communications and worked as a reporter for the entertainment department of the school newspaper, the Daily Texan, mainly doing movie reviews and interviews with bands that were playing in Austin. I have worked professionally both as a newspaper reporter and as middle school and high school teacher in the Dallas and Wilmer-Hutchins districts. I have taught ninth grade English, 7th grade language arts and high school debate and speech. I have also subbed in many school districts in the Metroplex - Highland Park, DeSoto, Eagle Mountain/Saginaw and Frisco, among others. I have subbed at every grade level and virtually every subject.
