About Nancy:

I just completed my 10th year of teaching and have decided to stay at home with my 4 year old daughter. Tutoring is the best job for me right now. I majored in English at the College of Charleston and then went to The Citadel to earn a master's in secondary English education. I enjoy teaching 6th-12th graders English. I taught in Berkeley County for 8 years. I worked mostly with students who needed remediation and had special needs. I also taught College Prep English. Most recently I taught at a private Christian school. I taught 8th grade Language Arts and 9th and 10th grade World Literature. I also taught a study skills class. These students were very bright, but I still had some students with special needs who needed accommodations. I believe that it helps students to know grammar in order to be successful with their writing. I have helped many students write essays and research papers. I love literature also. I believe that with practice students can be successful in achieving their academic goals. I am very patient and have had good working relationships with my former students.
