 About Matt:
Hello young music students. I have played music since 5th grade. My father repaired and fixed musical instruments for over 45 years. Mainly for various school districts. I have grown up with this in my heart. Saxophone is my major and Clarinet is my secondary instrument. I have played for over 25 years and in the past 2 years picked my instruments up again as I feel I have a mission to reach out to you the student to share my experience and knowledge. I have a very broad range of knowledge of most instruments. I have played professional in Los Angeles, worked as a backup musician for various bands in Seattle in the eighties and just played freelance. My daughter is 16 and very involved in music she plays violin and this got me to get involved. I feel every young person should go down the path in life to learn music as this taught us about ourselves, sets a discipline that will follow us through life and also Music is the universal language. We need more talented musicians in the world I am prepared to tutor students to help them achieve that success in their music journeys. Hope to hear from you. Lets have fun. So much music so little time.

Learn More About Matt's Experience:
clarinet
Future Clarinetists I have played Clarinet since 5th Grade through high school. Clarinet is a good first reed instrument to learn as you then can learn Saxophone, or other reed instruments. I started to play sax in 7th grade, as well as still playing the clarinet in bands and orchestra. I have played the clarinet for many years and until the last 2 years I decided to share my experience and my passion for you my future student. Clarinet is a very fun instrument to learn and play as bands, orchestra, recitals etc., can always use a good clarinet player. Learning to blow the clarinet correctly, play scales, learning sheet music and PRACTICE. Practice. PRACTICE will be your success. Let me know when you are ready to pick up this instrument.
saxophone
I have a listing in the clarinet section. in 7th grade I wanted to play saxophone as I learned the clarinet first. I wanted to play in the stage band and play 1st Lead tenor. I practiced very heard everyday, had a good music tutor and the desire to be the best. Our Band played against Kenny G's Band in High School we beat therm took state. Kenny G was a sophomore but very good. I have played on and off since studio musician in Los Angeles, Played alot of blues gigs in Venice beach, and when someone needed a Sax Player I got called. I still paly and love music. I want to see you have a good experience learning this instrument or others. I am here for you. Lets play!
