About Charles:

My academic credentials include a BA in Psychology; an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling; and an MLIS in Library and Information Science. In Fall 2008, I will complete the Duke University Professional Certification in Teaching ESL/EFL. I have taught ESL for two semesters at the Durham Literacy Center, where I have enjoyed working with students from many cultures and backgrounds.
My teaching style is pleasant and positive in attitude; gentle, friendly and encouraging. I am happy to work with students who have newly-arrived in the U.S., who have some basic ability in English, and who want to improve their ability to function in day-to-day activities, as well as to improve their conversation skills.
