To Whom It May Concern:
I am currently starting my career as a music educator. I am currently working towards a B.A. in Liberal Arts at Soka University of America (close to Irvine, California), and will study music or music education in graduate school. I am home in San Jose for the summer and am looking for new opportunities to strengthen my experience. I have been a musician my entire life, and have greatly seen the merits in my life and in my view of the world – it is my strongest desire to teach music so that others can experience the same.
My experiences range from performing with the San Jose Youth Symphony across Eastern Europe, to co-founding the Cantare Flute Quartet, to conducting the Soka University orchestras, and each of these have greatly instilled in me the importance of music. I have experience as a private teacher of many students over the past 4-5 years. I have been fortunate to study under amazing teachers, including Kai-Chi Zhu, Darin Ishimatsu, and Yair Samet, all to whom I am greatly indebted to; I hope that by teaching others, I can continue to show the value of what they have taught me.

-Student Conductor: Soka University of America orchestras
o led 100+ students in performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, 2008
-Principal 2nd Flute, San Jose Youth Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra, under
the direction of Yair Samet (2006-2007)

-Principal, and featured soloist, and substitute conductor, San Jose

I have studied classical music performance for over ten years, and have gained quite extensive music history knowledge at the same time. In addition, I have taken college courses in world music and Latin American music, both of which studied music from an anthropological perspective.

I took the college course Music Composition II, which was essentially a music theory course. I received an A in this class.
