I have spent the last 25 years working with people of many backgrounds with a multitude of learning styles. Successful communication becomes a necessary skill under those conditions. Tutoring is Communication 101.

I sought a minor degree in English Literature while in College. Although I loved English Literature and English Grammar, I actually graduated with a Bachelors degree in Fashion Design. My 25 year long career in the fashion industry is at an end. While I enjoyed many facets of the creative process, I did not enjoy the industry itself. Now, I want to do something fulfilling. Teaching is something I truly enjoy. So, now I have decided to pursue it.

One of my favorite subjects is Geometry. This is a subject which I seemed to learn with such ease and I never struggled to grasp any of the concepts. English grammar and writing have also been my favorite topics. I write for a hobby and I hope to one day be a published author. As I mentioned earlier, I am a fashion industry professional and so anyone seeking my help with a sewing or crafts project will get excellent assistance. I look forward to an opportunity to tutor my favorite subjects.

It does not matter what learning challenges you have to overcome. What matters is discovering your learning style and grooming that style so you can learn anything.

  I first began drawing as a young child and I became very interested in drawing when my mother drew a house for me and I saw that it actually looked like a house. From that point on, my interest in drawing sprang to life. I have worked professionally drawing clothing in what is called Flat drawings. This is what you would see if you where trying to see the details of the clothing, like pockets or collar shapes, etc. I also have drawn fashion drawings "Croquis". Croquis are the fancy drawings you see that high fashion designers produce. I have drawn clothing, accessories, and people for advertisements for newspapers as well. My college training included drafting with ink to create depth and charcoal drawings of live models in art class. I still enjoy drawing and draw what ever interests me.

  I have made paper patterns and sewn since I was 9 years old (without telling my age :) that's been more than 3 decades ago). I have worked professionally as a seamstress and I have sewn wedding dresses for a major Bridal House. I have more recently made professional patterns for companies like Jones Apparel, Ashley Stewart, and New York and Company. While I did not sew for these companies, I was constantly in contact with the people that manufactured the clothing, explaining the changes in construction that I and the company I worked for was requesting. I still make some of my own clothing. I can make anything from a fully lined and constructed jacket or coat to a softly draped blouse.
