I have a degree in Chinese Language and Literature from UMASS/Amherst. I studied a year at Beijing Normal University. I have studied Chinese over 15 years. I have been certified to teach Chinese as a foreign language since 1997. I have taught Chinese in Illinois and Massachusetts in the public school systems.I designed and implemented my own curriculum for over 300 students Grades K-4 in Chicago Public Schools. I speak Mandarin Chinese fluently and write both simplified and traditional Chinese characters. I specialize in teaching children but have experience teaching all ages foreign languages. I have been an active member in CLASS( Chinese Language Association of Secondary School Teachers).Last but not least I am a native English speaker and offer a unique insight in the process of learning Chinese as a second language.
