About Helene:

Learning has a personality of its own: we each have our learning style. I approach teaching in response to your particular learning style suited to your immediate needs. My approach to learning involves the use of the body and mind--using both movement and voice, peppered with visuals to communicate. I believe that teaching is a form of sharing when both student and tutor interact, hopefully with a good sense of humor peppering the serious task of gaining competence. Like you, I am still a student: presently in the French Department, Graduate School, CUNY, working on my dissertation. I have taught Intermediate French, Comparative Literature and critical Writing and analysis at CUNY, mainly at Baruch, NYC. My personal focus is on translation of critical,theoretical and literary texts into English. I was born in Paris, France, but graduated from HS in Brooklyn, NY; finished BA course work in Jerusalem, Israel; took years off to live and translate and eventually I returned to graduate studies in NYC.
