Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am a graduate student who is working on my Master's Degree thesis. Upon completion of my thesis, I will be completely finished with school and will become a Speech-Language Pathologist. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and my career interests include facilitating literacy, language/grammar, writing, vocabulary, and speech skills. My passion is working with individuals with developmental delays, learning disabilities, and other special needs. I have recently moved to the Clarksville, TN area from Virginia and I am looking for a job here that will allow me to set my own hours so that I can continue to focus on the completion of my thesis. I am friendly, caring, and put my whole heart into any challenge that I take on. I always put my best foot forward and complete challenges to the best of my ability. I have had jobs in the past in which I have worked in a client's home. You will find that I am a clean and organized person who is pet-friendly. (I've had the same dog now for 10 years.) I am a nonsmoker, have reliable transportation, and I am very punctual. I've worked with people of all ages from children to the geriatric population, so who ever you are...I'm sure we'll get along just fine. Thank you for your consideration. Throughout my post-college career, I have had the opportunity to work in 4 different elementary school settings: a special needs school in North Carolina, a private Catholic school in Virginia, and 2 public schools in Virginia. My experience includes working with children from preschool age to sixth grade. I am a very creative person, so working with various age groups allows me to employ different learning techniques specific to the needs of the child. I am great at making learning fun, no matter your child's age!

Considering that I am a Speech-Language Pathologist "in training," phonics is my specialty. I am trained to teach and correct speech sounds in addition to facilitating phonemic awareness. I have ample experience in articulation therapy/treatment and have worked with all ages of children in this area from preschoolers to high school students.
