About Dennis:

As to French, I took French in high school and college, then also lived and worked in France for over two years. After, I was a long-term substitute teacher in French for the Waukegan, Illinois, school district. As to piano, I took lessons from 1979 to 1989 before college, then three semesters of piano in college. in 2001 I began teaching piano. In 2007 piano lessons were 70% of my work.

Dennis Hankinson has over 29 years experience on the piano, having first studied through Stried's Studio in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, from 1979 to 1989. Following high school Dennis studied piano at Bethel College, MN, and at the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, IL. He has performed in several contexts, including keyboard roles with Christian Youth Theatre and Frizane Music Ministries. In 2003 he also studied piano tuning and servicing at Kircher's Technical Training Institute in Oak Park, IL. Following this period Dennis has also attended piano pedagogy seminars at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, giving him a better understanding of piano composers both from antiquity and the modern era. Currently Dennis plays for a local cinema lobby and a department store. He is a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and has over forty students.
