Hi! My name is Priyanka and I'm a recent Johns Hopkins University graduate. In college, I was a pre-med and psychology major. In August, I'm starting medical school at Buffalo Medical College.
I attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City, one of the specialized science magnet schools. I received a 1480 on my SAT: a 740 in math and a 740 in critical reading. It was early in high school that I decided to pursue a career in medicine and made the decision to attend JHU.
My passion for teaching began in high school, as I tutored several of my peers as well as Khan's Tutorials in Queens. Early in college, I taught an SAT class for Legal Outreach, a Harlem non-profit organization. Here, I was responsible for creating daily, interactive lessons. Since then, I've been a Kaplan teacher for the SHSAT, as well as the SAT, so I have been exposed to the strategies that are taught by test prep companies.
As can be seen, teaching has been my passion for several years now. My teaching style is one that is individualized to the student and the subject. Above all, I pride myself on creating an environment that is both fun and productive. I hope to hear from you guys soon! |
