About Amanda:

A recent graduate of Muhlenberg College, I graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry. I performed over a year of independent research with my Physical Chemistry professor in Laser Chemistry. The independent research allowed me to present and defend my research to the Chemistry faculty to graduate with Honors in Chemistry. I also graduated as a Muhlenberg Scholar. At Muhlenberg, I tutored General Chemistry for three years and Calculus II for one year. I worked one-on-one with my tutees to help them gain an understanding of the material, whether that indicated a complete review of material, or simply completing practice problems to reinforce the coursework, I geared my tutoring style towards each individual's needs. I will be attending the SUNY State College of Optometry in NYC in the fall of 2008. I received a merit scholarship given to the anticipated top ten percent of their incoming class. I look forward to being a future optometrist. I love to learn and I also love to impart my knowledge on others. If I had not opted to go to a professional school, I would have gone to graduate school to become a teacher. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the 'lightbulb moment' in a tutee.
