About Ben:

The picture is of my twin brother and me when we visited the Grand Canyon. I have 3 years teaching experience. The first two years were with Teach For America, a nationally acclaimed service corps of accomplished college graduates who commit to teach in under-resourced schools. During my two years with TFA, I taught both Algebra and Geometry, as well as coached high school football. I helped our school increase our state standardized test passing results in the math section by over 200%. My third year of teaching was at KIPP Adelante Prep. Academy in San Diego, were I taught Pre-Algebra to 7th graders. My teaching philosophy is focusing on teacher/student interaction, and using a variety of methods in my instruction to cater to all types of learning styles. Most importantly, I believe in results and fun! I am confident that if you create an enjoyable learning experience for the student, they will have a higher success rate in learning.
