About Dana:

Hello! My name is Dana and I am eager and excited to provide assistance wherever I can! I just completed my second year at the University of Southern California, where I am majoring in Business Administration. I graduated from Martin Luther King High School in 2006 and I was ranked in the top 10 of my class of over 600 students during all four years of high school while being highly involved in other activities both on and off campus. I have played the clarinet for eight years and was a member of the award-winning Riverside Kingsmen Band. My favorite subject is math and I am also very familiar with using computers and various computer applications. At USC I participated in the Joint Educational Program, in which I tutored first grade students in reading and math. As far as teaching style, I utilize the demonstrator model. I use examples and work through problems myself first. Then I explain to the student how I progressed from start to finish, and ensure that the student understands each step before moving on. I use repetition and will ask the student to solve similar problems until the student is comfortable with that particular concept. I expect my students to ask for assistance when needed so I am aware of what to focus on. I consider myself a dedicated individual, and I will be committed in everything that I do. I believe that most people have the potential to achieve greatness, and just need the proper motivation and guidance to lead them towards the right path. I am also friendly, patient, and professional. I have flexible hours and am willing to accommodate any special needs.
