I am currently attending Las Positas Community College, majoring in music and minoring in English. I feel that tutoring will give me the opportunity to give back to the two fields I enjoy as well as the others that I like, as well. I have been playing music for 10 years, with double bass being my primary instrument and have worked in many orchestras and bands. I play four different instruments--bass, violin, guitar, and mandolin and consider music to be my passion in life.
In terms of English, I recently won first prize for a nonfiction piece in my college's literary anthology and was a staff writer on their newspaper. I love writing and feel that it is a great outlet in terms of self-expression and communication.
With the other field that I enjoy and would love tutoring, history, I am very interested in current events. History is a fascinating subject that, I feel one can learn a lot from. Comprehension of politics and backgrounds on countries can help stress an early involvement in voting and open up one to the world around oneself.
My style of teaching is primarily focused on enjoyment based on mastery of a subject. It is an amazingly gratifying feeling to succeed in any activity and my goal is to push a student towards that success and fulfillment.
