Hi! I am 28 years old and have been working with children for 13 years. My undergraduate work was in Early Childhood and Human Development and Family Studies. I have a Masters of Teaching Elementary Education degree. I have taught Pre-Kindergarten and Preschool. In 2007, I did my student teaching in a first grade inclusion classroom. In 2002, I joined the AmeriCorps for a term of service. During this time I worked with third, fourth and fifth graders on math and reading skills.
My favorite subject is math and I love helping children with reading skills.
Teaching is a passion and I strongly believe each child deserves a chance for success!

elementary (k-6th)

Last year, I received my Masters and certification in elementary education. I have experience working in schools with 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. My experience includes but is not limited to math, reading, spelling and writing. I have also taught Pre-Kindergarten for 5 years. As a Pre-K teacher I taught my students letter sounds to recognizing sight words and punctuation, to writing short sentences.

I have 10 years experience teaching children phonics on many different levels. Some students needed help with letter sounds, some beginning or ending sounds and some just overall phonemic awareness on sounding out whole words.

study skills
|
While in the AmeriCorps program, I ran an after school math club for students that needed extra help in math. I also tutored students during their free periods in reading.
