Hello everyone,I am 28 years old and have been a tutor on and off for 10 years now. I currently work as an ESL Instructor at a private language school in San Francisco. My specialty is ESL and test preparation (TOEFL, IELTS, GED). I am experienced in teaching Business English. My educational background is in psychology and I am able to tutor in that subject as well.   I have a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I have been working as an ESL Instructor for about a year. I've taught multi-lingual classes, with most of my students being Asian. I have experience teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as TOEFL and IELTS. I have taught private students (tutoring) for a little over 6 months. After an initial meeting and evaluation, I develop a curriculum tailored specifically for the student. I am able to adapt to any book that the student is already using or chose books to suit a student's needs. I usually supplement books with real-world materials. I use magazine and newspaper articles, as well as audio and video. I sometimes integrate hands-on tasks and sertain computer software (usually for pronounciation correction).

When teaching other subjects, I usually start with a rewiew of these skills. In my experience, a struggling student will greatly improve just by following some simple guidelines that can be taught in as little as 3 to 5 sessions.
