I am a native of Beijing, China. I was a physics instructor after completing my degree in
Mechanical Engineering. After one year of teaching, I became the director at Beijing
Real Estate Technical School. Since then, I have continued to enjoy my role as a teacher.
In 1987, I went to Hamburg, Germany to work as an assistant for Professor Kuan.
The job duties included helping him type settings and lay out the materials in Chinese on
the computer, assisting students' with conversational Mandarin, providing instruction on
pronunciation, and editing German magazine in Chinese. I also organized
Chinese projects as well and Chinese painting exhibitions.
In 1990, I have had a chance to live and work in this United States and I am now an US citizen.
After working more than ten years on various jobs, I realized that I missed my role as a Mandarin
instructor.
I believe I am an excellent Mandarin instructor and am very proud of my students. They come
from well known universities such as Stanford, UC Berkeley, Harvard, UCSF, Cambridge, and
Duke as well as great companies such as IBM, Google, and IDEO. I also teached Mandarin classes
at Apple computer for 12 Ipod engineers, as well as Open TV, YMCA, UCSF, Guy Carpenter
Re-Insurance Company.
