I passed the very rigorous Texas Educator tests (TeXes ESL 4-8, Teaching PPR Exam). I am certified to teach up to grade level 8. I taught 6th grade this past year. I was what is known as a self-contained teacher. I had the same 21 students (including ESL, special education) all day. I taught students world history (USA, Europe, Africa, Middle East, South America, Asia), reading skills/strategies, literature, grammar/writing, life science, physical science, earth science, lab/science fair, algebra, geometry, fractions/decimals, graphing (all the basic 5th through 7th grade math objectives...
I led small groups (phonics/phonemic awareness, reading skills, math concepts)
My math skills are very strong. All tests I was required to pass were based on knowledge learned from K through college, which I mastered.
